Just wanted to post about a great interaction I had with Timney triggers customer service dept. I recently purchased 3 Timney Model 501 Remington model 7 triggers at an online auction. The triggers were still sealed in the factory boxes, but I didn't pay close enough attention to them before bidding to see that the model 501 does not have safety on them.

When I picked them up from the auction, I noticed that the safeties were missing. I went on Timney's website and sent them a message asking if safeties could be added and if so, what would the cost be. A day later I received an email from them stating that they could not add a safety to that trigger, but they would replace the trigger with their model 521 at no charge.

They said they would go ahead and mail a new trigger out to me and once I got it installed and was happy with it just email them back. Then they would send out an RMA # and then I could send all 3 triggers back and they would ship me the other 2 triggers. The only cost I incurred was the return shipping of the triggers.

Timney went above and beyond on this in my opinion, and I couldn't be more impressed by them.

Good on Timney!

They are good folks.

And the triggers work good.

That's nice to hear. In the past six months I have sent customer service e-mails to three major, well thought of, manufacturers/retailers, multiple times, with zero response. This is to their advertised "contact us" customer service e-mails. That's just inexcusable, in my opinion.

I have replaced three Jewell triggers with Timney’s. I really like the Timney’s, no muss - no fuss. The Jewell’s were too mushy. I have had excellent customer service interaction with them.

I had a similar experience with Geissele triggers for an AR.

That's more than what I got outta their CS and techs for help when I did the dailing for dummies for more info about a featherweight trigger I put in my K98 3 yrs ago.
Had questions about overtravel and sear engagement issues to get the trigger to work properly.
The detailed instructions with the trigger were not much help following them either.
And I can follow detailed instructions....

0 help from their "tech guy" other than let me get your Ph# and I will call you back NLT noon tommorow.

Uh huh....
Got on here about 15 mins after that call.
Down in the mauser forums.
Had guys within 10mins telling me how to adjust and check the trigger.

Never did get that call the next day either.

YMMV about companies and experiences with them.
Everyone has different impressions and interactions.

But when a tech cant provide a simple answer like the guys did on here for me.
Tells me he is faking the funk...

I have 0 complaints about the trigger once I got it working right per the knowledge from guys on here.
Was too easy when put out in layman's terms on what to do.
2.5pds, 0 take up, breaks like christmas ornament glass.
Tiny bit of over travel.
Like I wanted it too.

👍👍👍

They must be a relatively small company. They have always been quick to respond to any inquiries I had even when it was not regarding one of their products. I put timney on all my rifles.

It’s difficult in this sue happy environment to get any technical instructions on modifying triggers.

I put a 2 1/2 # Timney on a Weatherby Vanguard in .257Wby.
Total game changer.
