Anyone get CPAP supplies through the VA? If so, does it have to be "service connected" or can you just show them documentation from a regular doctor?

All of mine is provided by the VA; but, my disability is not apnea related. As a matter of fact, my apnea diagnosis and subsequent CPAP and supplies all pre-date my service connected disability. The VA now does my sleep studies, provides my CPAP machine and my supplies.

I had a sleep study done via Community Care. The VA then provided a CPAP, back up batteries, and a case of masks. I had to go to the VA facility for fitting and instructions. I order replacements from the VA on line. This was all done before I had established any service connections. If you qualify as having been exposed to agent orange and have type II diabetes, you may get sleep apnea added as a secondary illness and boost your disability rating.
