I have a NULA 300 win mag. The trigger is the three position one. Yesterday b4 leaving out west from Tennessee I shot rifle something in trigger has gone south.
Put safety on fire nothing, moved it several times to off then on then it fired.
I have a third season hunt in Colorado would like to replace trigger myself. Big question is does anyone know if I just order. Remington 700 trigger or??
I plan on calling NULA / Wilson combat tomorrow.
Last thing I am not much on the three position trigger all my old tang safety Rugers and savage 99 hav a very positive click when u move them. The NULA has always been very mushy. If possible I would like to find something that is a more positive snap on off.
Thank you guys in advance

Ive had the same problem with one of my nulas, unless something has changed a 700 is different. I ended up sending mine to Melvin and he replaced the trigger that was in 1997.
I forgot to ask if you had the Timney trigger? I’m betting it is as I understand the jewell trigger is not three function like the timney.

you have two position trigger ..... rear is safe forward is fire... the only other function is when in the rear safe position you push down to release the bolt lock there in no other position for the trigger to operate in if you have the trigger in between the forward and rear position an pull the trigger it may or may not fire...but sometimes if i do that and push the safety forward i have moved the sear enough to make the trigger fire

Thanks guys I wish I had enough time to send rifle to Melvin. Sorry for late response been driving.
Will call today see what I can come up with.
It is a Timney trigger if I can get it working that would be awesome my NULA is so freaking accurate i absolutely love it. If not I brought my old 30-06 thanks again.

Remove the stock and inspect the trigger!
Watch how it functions. Check to see if any part of the trigger assembly is rubbing on the stock.

probably cheaper just to buy a trigger from them and install it versus sending it to them these days with the hoops you have to jump through to ship and the cost involved

Just be careful. I had one of these 3 function/2 position nula safeties that would “hang” in the middle between safe and fire - and if the trigger was depressed in that position it would not fire - but would as soon as the safety was slid forward the rest of the way.
I’d inspect as alpinecreek suggested and give them a call.

Just talked to someone at Melvins shop he told me to order a Timney with a steel body and replace it you will be good to go.
I am calling Timney to see which trigger is steel i have enough time to order it and test it before i go thank God. The old 30-06 will have to just be the back up on this trip.
Thanks you guys for all the sugestions.

So the plan is taking her apart today inspecting like Alpine suggested clean and check again if i am not 100 percent confident then i have located a trigger tech trigger about a hour and half from here.
So i feel very confident the 30-06 is going to be the brides maid again this year.
Thanks as always I feel like everything is going to work out.

Keep us updated; I’m curious what you find and if the TT is indeed a drop in (if you go that route).

Did the guy at Melvins give you any indication of what might be wrong? I’m surprised he wasn’t more help on this one or specific part numbers for replacement.
