Got an old 10ga Browning BPS with a damaged mag tube. Ordered a new one and would like advice on removing the old one? I understand that there is some sort of thread locker on threads and may need some heat to break the old compound loose? I had gun camo dipped a while back so I am concerned with damaging the camo on the receiver, tube was not coated, so I would like to avoid direct heat on the receiver finish if possible. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

In a similar situation with a 12 a pair of holes very close to the threads allowed a hard steel rod to go through. Ultimately, a sharp rap on the rod while holding it in tension popped it free. Krylon was the "glue."

A spanner wrench and a single hole did not work, though I thought it would.

I have not used any threadlocker on them.
