I've been using Rage Broadheads for about 6-7 years now and have taken about 10 deer with them, mostly buck. Every one of those deer dropped within 50 yards of getting shot. I had an opportunity to take a nice fat old doe on Tuesday evening just before dark. At the shot which felt good I saw her take off like a scalded dog and just kept going. I watched her disappear into the brush about 75 yards away still going strong! Shot was maybe 28 yards and I could see my Nocturnal nock glowing in the low light. I thought I must have missed her. But not taking any chances I got down out of the tree stand and went over to my arrow and saw that is was covered in blood - bright red blood. I waited about 20 mins and started tracking an unusually faint but decent blood trail. Not like the red carpet blood trail from others with the Rage. I found her about 150 yards away. The entrance hole was huge but something happened upon hitting a rib. What I think happened is that the blades didn't lock open on impact and her reaction caused them to partially close then open again on exit. Fortunately my shot took out the right lung and center punched the heart. Normally the slit in the heart should have been almost twice as wide.
