I was looking for a couple of budget scopes to put on a couple of rifles that were currently scope-less and came across a Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44mm AO Rifle Scope, V-Plex (MOA) Reticle on sale at Sportsmanguide.com. I normally look for 4x variable scopes because I live in a wooded environment mixed with large open crop fields, but the $134.99 buyer's club sale price got me looking at this scope. Non buyer's club price is $149.99. Looking to see if there were any online coupon codes available, including the one listed on the SG home page, I came across several $20.00 off coupon codes. I made several separate purchases of this scope at $134.99 + $1.99 newly added fuel charge - $20.00 coupon code = a total shipped to me price of $116.98 each. If you're not a SG buyer's club member, then the total cost would be $15.00 more at $131.98 each. My budget scopes, when needed, have been the Burris Fullfield E1 4.5-14x42 Long Range MOA Reticle scopes at around $165.00, but for almost $50.00 cheaper I thought I would go with these Vortex scopes. They do comes with the Vortex Lifetime Warranty also. If anyone is looking for a decent budget scope, this is a pretty good bargain for a Vortex scope that normally sells for between $190-$230.

I got home from work today and my scopes that I ordered on Sunday were waiting for me on the door step. The reticle is the same reticle that's on the Vortex Crossfire Scout Scope that I have mounted on several Marlin lever rifles. The glass quality is decent, not like my high end scopes but it will work just fine in early morning and evening hours. I looked across the lake this evening with one and could read the letters on my neighbors boat about 500 yards away. If it tracks great and stays zeroed it will be a great deal for a $116.98 Vortex scope!
