Looks beautiful! But he doesn't give us a side picture of the front sight.. tsk tsk. So I went and dug this gun out of my safe as it did bring a great bit of attention to my DM box. I'll try to take a pic of the front sight and see if Rory can help me post it tomorrow. It looks to be a Lyman front sight with the bead "removed". Based on other pictures and catalog photos, it appears to be the original style front sight but with no bead. The only down side to the gun is there is a little bit of rust pitting on the right side of the barrel just near the muzzle end. The rust long since removed but the pitting and minor bluing loss remains. The gun also has signs that someone must have tightened the rotor spring at some point. This gun has literally not seen the light of day in many years so I had forgotten about any minor issues. The rest of the gun is near perfect...I suspect that someone loaded the gun into a safe with their hand on the end of the barrel and forgot about it where their hand contact lead to rust formation...but that is pure speculation. The edges of the frame show zero carry wear and even the bottom of the lever has shockingly good case color for a 30s era gun... as shown in the pics that Rory graciously posted. The stock has exactly two very minor "dings". All in all, a very rare quality gun for its age and a rare combination of model and caliber to boot.

Drew, The T arrived today and it was everything you said it was PLUS. This is only my 3rd T. I have two others. One in .300 Sav and the other in 30-30 Win. All 3 of them are VERY close in condition. The 30-30 is in the 350,000 range. The 303 I got from you is in the 371,000, and my 300Sav is in the 380,000. I have been waiting for a nice one to come along and your fills the bill nicely. Thank you for completing the deal.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I keep saying this will be the last one, but then something pops up and I just can't help myself. Nice and original is what I strive for. That doesn't always happen. Oh well, I am already looking for my next one.
