....... Yup. The "dumbing down" of this country that has been going on for the last 50 years or so is now coming to fruition. As the older folks die off they get replaced by young brain washed naive fools who swallow all that's fed to them. It's called demographics and it's how societal attitudes and standards change over the years.

Observations.

The Dems poured $40 to back Trump backed candidates. They thought they would be easier to defeat. It proved true.

States that have voter ID faired better for the GOP.

The Dem talking points were repeated over and over by all the Media except Fox. The end of democracy, NAZI's, homophobic, transphobic, women's rights. Over and over. To a lot of young people, this is all they heard.

If an Abortion issue was on the ballot, more young people voted in these areas. Many do not understand that it is a now a States Rights issue, not national.

Old fashioned Americanism and the Constitution is not taught in school. I remember having to learn this and why the bill of rights was written.

Republicans won big in Florida. They really like DeSantis, and the Hispanic vote turned GOP. Why, because most Hispanics are family oriented and don't like the Woke crap. They also remember the good economy of the Trump years. This is good news. The Dems were hoping to turn Florida and Texas at least Purple. I think the party has to leave Trump and go to someone else, like DeSantis.

There are also a lot of liberal white transplants in places like Atlanta, Charlotte and other growing cities in the south.

That was my argument to family in the primaries. He’s a Turkish moslem with dual citizenship. Who the Fück wants that guy in the senate?
So please explain how festerman was a better option. We are doomed because half the country is raging liberals and too many others are like these 2, voting on feelings

The guy Oz beat in the primaries was a Wall Street Hedge Fund manager. I'am sure he would have did a much better job of bringing Fetterman voters to the R side.

No one is bringing festerman voters to the R side. The problem is the jackoffs writing in their own candidate or not voting at all because they dont like someone. Oz sucked, I agree, but to sit it out or vote for someone else is full retard. No we have one in power. Good job guys

The abortion band-aid needed to be ripped off. That's accomplished at the Federal level, so we can move on at the next election.

Walking in to an empty polling place @8am didn’t exactly give me that warm and fuzzy feeling. Nobody I talked to that day stood in line to vote either.

Simple

Abortion trumped the economy:

Men and women who cast ballots split their support, with more than half of men voting for Oz and more than half of women voting for Fetterman. Among independent voters, who made up about a quarter of the electorate, more than half voted for Fetterman.

Exit polls: Pennsylvania

For voters who thought that abortion was the most important issue, more than three quarters supported Fetterman. They made up just over one-third of the electorate.

But among those who said inflation was the most pressing issue, more than three-quarters cast ballots for Oz. They made up more than a quarter of the electorate.

Did you talk to all those people, or are you just taking cnn's word for it?

I mean, like you took their word about covid numbers.

To me, the plan was to get the sympathy vote. It worked.

Now he will step down at some point in time, and someone will be appointed. Win/win for the dems.

I don't think it's yet crystal clear to most of us, or we just refuse to allow ourselves to see it, but I believe we (America in total) have reached that tipping point where we can no longer even claw our way back to sanity. Voting is a joke at this point... And I no longer believe any 2020 era "patriots" will consider shooting our way back, even as an absolute last resort. We are on the elevator, the door is locked and we are headed down.

The electorate in this country is trending toward socialism. It has been advancing slowly since the 1930s. On this forum we consider ourselves conservative and free-market folks that pay our own way, But I will bet over half (way over) are participating in government social programs such as Social Security, Medicare-Medicaid, farm subsidies, your own or kids with college loans, took the stimulus checks, and the list goes on and on. I am guilty of cashing in on government money but I still vote against my own immediate self interest. Huge numbers vote for handouts.

Socialism is extremely addicting, and to young folks starting out it is very attractive.

Heck, my wife works 12 hours lots of days in a clinic and attends baby deliveries at the hospital. The clinic income by a huge percent is Medicaid.

The future looks bright if you are pushing socialism. Most of us wouldn't vote to abolish what we have.

The election results suck. But it also makes me feel good to know I’m way smarter than at least 50 percent of the population. Edk
