What year did Kimber start making a three position safety instead of a two position safety? Also, what year did they stop using the red recoil pads on the 84M models?

Looking back, It may have been in '02..... That seems right. I think the 2 position was the first year or two of montana 84m only, and by the time the 8400 came out they had gone to 3 position. I know for certain all the L’s (‘07) were 3 position.

So it’s not unreasonable for a 2012 model Kimber 84m to have a three position safety and a red pad?

Dave, so is that link the actual firearm? How do you know it's 2012?
Going by memory, I think that's a bit late for a red pad. I remember them phasing out in the 2008-ish era.

That’s the firearm he’s trying to sell me. Says it’s 2012, three position safety excellent gun blah blah blah.
His phone number is a New York area code, is FFL is a Georgia area code. I called his FFL and he verifies that someone has had contact with him about shipping a gun but he was describing six different emails from the same person, a guy selling the gun. It looked like one of the addresses was the gun was going to Katy Texas. Maybe he’s selling five or six guns I don’t know?
He sure did get pretty defensive when I asked to have a phone conversation with him though🤣🤣

I bought a 260 in '06 that was 3 pos. If you ever want to sell, let me know. I'll take that triple POS off your hands.

Not a guy I'd deal with if he won't talk on the phone. Aside, as a Kimber guy always on the hunt for another, I'm fairly certain I've seen those pictures before...

Yeah, I haven’t sent any money yet. I’m just trying to get my ducks in a row before I bail. Deals online folks word mean something, and if I back out turns out this guy is legit and I get roasted a little bit, might hurt future endeavors to some degree.

Given the feedback on his post over there I doubt you’d get any flack. They all seem pretty convinced it’s a scam.
Did you google search the image?

I'd require the serial number.

Do you know what that one sold for? I wish places would leave the sale price up when something is sold. Thanks for any information.
