In my experience, the 26/27 prints noticeably less than the 19/23 when carried IWB at 4:00 (but then, the 19/23 is pretty good in that department, too), and draws and shoots (in the case of the 26, anyway) nearly as well. It's a worthy compromise, IMO.
Like I said, though, for me, the 27 is too snappy, but that's how I feel (to a lesser degree) about the 22 and 23. Complete bullschit. Takes 15 minutes on the range to demonstrate it and it's not even close.

I think the thickness of the G27 is my main reason for the cooler/winter carry choice for me. For warmer/summer temps, I carry a G43. These choices are based on how much concealment I have on between the pistol and the open air view in relation to my body type. My dimensions are 5'11, 195lbs. Note: Your mileage can and will vary!

G27 is the most traded-in gun there is.
That should tell you something.
I really gt a kick out of macho guys in a gun shop trying to convince their wives / girlfriends that they need a G-27 as their 1st carry gun.
Since it's not a pocket gun, might as well carry something slightly bigger that is easier to shoot.......G-19, M&P Compact 2.0, etc.
MM Own many Glocks. Would not own a G26 OR G27. That grip frame is ridiculous.

I bought a 27 after the .40 got popular in the 1990s. Hated it. Got rid of it. I have a 26. It is a good gun for gaming IDPA BUG division.

I like my Glocks and I've owned a 26 and 27 but both were sold/ traded off. I can't shoot them as well as the 19/ 23 size . Good pistol if you can shoot it. My current favorite is probably my 48

Yeah, the grip is way to short for me unless it has the pinky extension.

The 19 is about the best size in a Glock. That being said, the 26/27 size Glocks are decent and never had a problem with them. I really never noticed much difference in “snappiness” with the 9 or .40.

The 26 is a sweet shooter, particularly with a magazine extension that supports the pinky, but curling the pinky under the bottom of the flush mag is almost as good.

I have one and love it. I also love my Glock 22, so maybe I'm just a .40 ho.

I bought one shortly after they came out. Had it about 3 years, kinda liked it…but nowhere near as much as I love my G23. I traded to my brother for a $1600 tractor. Used the tractor for 10 years, sold it for $1200. He still has the G27, I made about $800 and got 10 years use out of the tractor in the process. Still have and love my G23.

Guns like the 27 short change their user right out of the gate.
You're immediately compromising the two most important factors in a handgun: Sight radius and grip.
The shorter sight radius is going to be a handicap and you're causing massive mitigation to the most important aspect of combat handgunning which is the ability to establish a proper grip.
To make things even worse, you gain almost zero advantage in the concealability department. You're still carrying a double-stack width Glock which is going to print almost as bad as 19 or 19X size grip frame and slide length. Unless of course you're carrying appendix, but that would mean you could easily carry a 19 or 19X size gun and have the same levels of concealment.
I can't tell you how many know-it-all shooters I've had tell me they "shoot their 26/27 just as well they do their 17/22."
"Oh really?" Start timing them and run drills like 2, 2, & 2? Or 1, reload, 1? Or the Bill Drill? Or the abbreviated Bill Drill? Or The Dicken Drill?
They invariably reply with "Oh fugk I can't shoot this thing for schit."
Because they can't.
Because they fugking suck. While Dr. Deflave's bedside manner leaves much to be desired at times, it does not mean that he is not a good surgeon, and the fact is that what he is saying is good information. For me I have somewhat large paws and I do not shoot a G26/27 sized Glock anywhere close to as well as a G19 or G17 size frame. Shooting it slow fire is one thing, but putting a shooter on the clock and running drills where speed and accuracy matter, the G26/27 does not come even close performance wise, as compared to the larger frames. If I am going to belt carry, either IWB or OWB, the difference between a G26 and G19 is so small in terms of concealing that it does not make much sense to go with the smaller of the two options in most cases. There are always exceptions to that, but for general purposes, I will always go with a G19/G17 over a G26 size.

Shooting it slow fire is one thing, but putting a shooter on the clock and running drills where speed and accuracy matter, the G26/27 does not come even close performance wise, as compared to the larger frames. It's not just you or the size of your hands; that comment applies to about 98% of all other normal human beings.............most who tout the 27 have never really shot one much, IMHO. And that alone makes a 27 more or less useless unless it's the only gun that someone owns. 26/27 is definitely not a pocket gun, as I've said earlier.....at least for any normal sized pocket, even a moderate sized jacket pocket, not only size wise but weight wise too.
