Hello all! I am a self admitted Sako Nut! I enjoy my Sako rifles but for hunting I really enjoy the Sako Fiberclass rifles I have. The ones I have are all long action AV rifles. Has anyone ever seen an AII in this country? I think I remember that Sako cataloged one back then but not sure it was ever produced. Anyone have a line on one for sale? I would love to have one in 308 or even 243. Please share your thoughts and experiences with me. Thank you, Rick

I go crazy for the small Sakos. I've owned and sold over a dozen through the years. Currently have two: Sako 85 XS Bavarian chambered in .20-.223 Imp. and a Sako 85 Carbon light in .223 Remington. Barrel and action on both rifles have been salt-bath nitrided.

Howdy Rick
I've not run into a Fiberclass models in an AI or an AII. I have seen AII's and AI's wearing McMillans on the auction sites and here. I've bought 3 AII's off of the classifieds here. An earlier .22-250 in a McM classic; A .308 varminter and an AII hunter in .243. The last two were bring backs. No importer marks. Good luck on your quest!

I don't believe they ever made the short action 308 model. I owned a 30-06 and have seen them in that and 7mm rem mag, 300 win mag.

I had one in 7mm-08 with a McMillan stock. I wish I never got rid of it. Also it was very accurate.

The Sako FIberClass rifle have only been made in long actions as far as I know, with a McMillan stock.
A bit heavy by today's standard but with a good stock design in all other aspects.
I have had a couple & still have one in 270.............it was my go-to rifle for a very long time & has killed more game from antelope to moose, than all my other rifles combined.
