JB, in the chapter on the .223, you make several references to 26.5gr of TAC as an accuracy load with 50gr bullets, even that an industry guy told you that’s their standard test load. In the data listing however, you list the same 26.0gr load you’ve long published in your pieces. Did I miss something (not impossible as I’m older than even you and ingwe😱), or is there a misprint or other explanation?

Thanks.

The explanation (which I apparently should have included in the chapter) is that I eventually burned enough TAC to encounter slight variations in different manufacturing lots. Some batches grouped 50-grain bullets a little better with 26.0 grains, others with 26.5.

I’ll pencil that in.

Thanks again.

Thanks for asking. Will include my explanation in the second printing, which we'll have to do in 2023, probably earlier than later.

It has to make an author feel good that not only people are buying the books, but they are reading them, line by line, and then thinking about them.

that is a high compliment indeed!

Good Job Muledeer!

+1 for me, too. I'm glad Pappy asked the question.

My wife ‘received’ my copy a few weeks ago and after a few exchanges with an Eileen I dug around and found it…yesterday. I now suspect her of attempting to out-looney me. She has had random questions about the differences between 4350’s. Hmm.

Great book JB.

I noticed that too, but I’m sticking with 26.0 gr of TAC with 50 gr BT’s. They shoot great in my rifle.
