Wife has a the above Ford Ranger XLT, loves the truck. BUT the transmission has started to jerk in lower gears as you take off from a stop. Been to Ford several times and to several dealers, they all say "it's the nature of the beast, it's the 10 speed just doin its job. I call BULL SHIET on that. Question is, have any of the Fire's brain trust had any experience with this issue? Google-fu says this is an on going issue that Ford has chosen to ignore. Any input would be helpful.

It should not do that when accelerating. It might hunt for gears when slowing down from high speed run . I would contact the zone office and open a case . How many miles on the truck? If it has close to 60K I would drain and fill the transmission.

-2019 Ford Ranger recalls: drivetrain #2- On July 1st, 2019, Ford also recalled 2534 vehicles from the 2019 model year due to the drivetrain's problems again. Ford indicated that affected vehicles might deal with defective transmission shifting that might not engage to the proper gear without any clear reason. Ford highlighted that vehicles could change directions unexpectedly with this problem, resulting in and raises the risk of crashes.
Ford asked all affected vehicles to visit the nearest Ford dealership to get the problem resolved free of charge. According to the automaker, the main reason for this problem is the loss of shift cable brackets fastener. Click HereYou may or may not have received a recall notice regarding this problem. Regardless, I'd have someone check your shift cable brackets.

Ford highlighted that vehicles could change directions unexpectedly with this problem, resulting in and raises the risk of crashes. What are they saying here? Are they talking about pulling left or right on a gear change? Shifting into reverse?

I have the same transmission in our 2020 Explorer. With a tiny 2.3L 4 cylinder engine, 10 speeds, and turbo's kicking in and out under certain driving conditions it can be a little jerky. Tons of power though, once in the right gear. Mine wants to get into higher gears fast and stay there in normal driving mode. And when it does downshift it will often go from 6th or 7th down to 3rd.
Have you tried driving in Sport or tow/haul mode. Under certain conditions on urban or mountain roads it stays in lower gears longer and power gets to the ground smoother. Much less shifting.
Without a side by side comparison I don't know if you have a problem or not. But to a certain extent it is the nature of the beast though.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.
