Excellent condition, some handling marks that I tried to capture. 13.5 LOP, trigger is crisp at 3.0, weight as pictured 7 lbs 13 oz. Barrel is 26.5 in. For the BOSS haters, cutting off the threads would get you about 23 in. I got 1 MOA with some factory rounds just playing around. Highly recommend bedding as it has the rubber gummy bedding. Disregard the feet! $1150 shipped in a plastic case. Add $25 if I have to ship from an FFL. I have several silver Leupolds that are available if interested. Let me know if you need more pics.

Looks like a pretty clean/lightly used rifle. The last one I saw, like this, a couple months ago looked just like this one and priced the same. Nice rifle. That BOSS will help with recoil and also tighten groups. GLWS..

Could the Boss be taken off and replaced with after market brake?

Some guys despise the BOSS on these classics. I used to be one of them, but got used to it on my 7mm RM and like it now. I think if some of these guys gave it a fair chance, they might change their minds as well. That is a nice rifle you have. Looks like it was well cared for. GLWS..

Thanks BSA,

I recently bought a Browning 338WM with a boss. They work and save money on load development. Not purty though...

I think where the BOSS really shines is with factory ammo. Some guys do not handload, so they can fine tune the rifle to just about any factory ammo. When I work up my loads, I disregard the boss settings. A while back I proved that when I worked up the load in my 7mm RM, the best load I worked up shot the best at the setting I had it on when developing the load. Made a lot of sense after doing the experiment, but I had to find out. Told me what I had already speculated. I also did not want to monkey around with a good load that my other 7mm RM loves:

Absolutely with factory ammo. And what you did makes sense because you are tuning to that setting. I also think you could load to desired velocity, then tune the BOSS to that load and get a good hunting load.

Exactly, good point. There are some advantages with the BOSS for sure, just depends on how you look at it. Someone will be getting a good deal on your rifle. You have it described well.

Great tidbits there as per tuning Factory loadings..

Tho were it me, I’d be screwing a 264 WM into that receiver, and set the BOSS on the shelf.

Bump for a 5 digit.

I have a 6-digit Winchester 70 SS Classic in 270 Win w/BOSS. Very accurate with Hornady Superperformance Ammo, even without messing with BOSS. The BOSS really reduces recoil. After buying a digital night vision scope (Sightmark 4K Mini),for this rifle, with which to hunt hogs, I had to reload some reduced velocity loads (ie, the Sightmark NV scope can only withstand recoil of 308 Win or less). So, I bought a BOSS CR and downloaded Hornady's 130 gr SST bullet. Easy to shoot and accurate. Haven't tried this yet on hogs but plan to as soon as I get a chance.

All of this to say that the Winchester 70 Classic with BOSS is a reliable great shooting rifle. Also, 5-digit Classics are more desirable than 6-digit. I think the OP's rifle is a decent buy, if the 300 WM caliber appeals to you. I know I will not be selling my rifle.
