That is Yugoslavian Mauser M24 built in 1944 during the war before newer M 24/47 came out after the war. Older Model 24's were made during the Kingdom, this one was made during German occupation under communist partisans. Newer production was M48.

My mistake, this rifle is not M24 but could be captured German 98 and refurbishes by Yugoslavian Government

A VZ-24 rifle has VZ-24 stamped on the side rail (left) of the receiver. No Mod 98 anywhere! A good original VZ-24 with correct wood and metal parts would easily bring $400.00 + They will also be stamped with a small CZ in a circle an all or most of the small parts! They were a "short rifle" and very desirable for conversion to a sporter. Now probably worth more as original issue!

Yep, that's the one . I used to buy them for around $100.00 or less for building sporters. I should have saved one!! Is it for sale? Trade? The other 98 pictured is collectable also!! Ken
