knew this would get more views here than the vehicle forum so I apologize.
Been thinking about trading wifes denali for one of these.
Wondering if anyone had one and their thoughts after ownership.
One problem is new are basically non existent without deposit and waiting in line and that leaves no room for negotiations.
Low mileage used are basically same price as new.

Bought one 1 1/2 years ago. Scored a deal on 2018 with 20,000 miles on it. Love it, had a 4runner but this has more comfort for a bad back. Pulled a boat and RV trailer with it. No problems so far

My wife bought hers new in 2020. It’s been fantastic and I plan to keep it for a hunting rig when she gets done with it. It’s very maneuverable and the all wheel drive is nice.

I was looking seriously at the 460 last year. The deal breaker for us was the manual stating premium fuel only. We went with a TRD 4-runner

The 460's addressed a big flaw in rear tail gate the older models have. They are a dream to drive. Heavy and capable. Pay attention to how you travel. They do not have the room you think in the cargo area. Gas mileage is gonna be low, but not much different than what you have in the Denali. If taken care of, it is a lifetime car.

I've seen 20-21 mpg with the wife's '11 if I drive it

Normal for her is 17-18 running mid range 87-88 octane @ 6000' elevation locally

Great sure footed/well made truck/SUV what ever ya wanna call it

100K miles & it's just broke in & ready for another 300K plus

I’ve had one of those, a Denali, and an Escalade. I prefer the GM though I have no doubt that the Lexus is a better car, particularly as the miles get high. It’s a great car. But my wife is never going to keep one long enough to get to the point where the Lexus really shines in the long term reliability.

What I prefer about the newer Denali and Escalade is that I don’t think a better machine has ever been invented for cruising in comfort at 90-100 mph down the interstate. Those things just eat up miles in complete comfort.

But like I said, the Lexus is undoubtedly a better car by most standards.

What he said.......^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Kinda of a no brainer.........

Toyota picks the best of the best employees to work on the Lexus line......

WTF... grin Toyota used to pick the best of the best to work for them period. I went though enough screenings & test to personally know that. And when they ran out of the cream & lowered their hiring policies their JD Power rating went down a few notches shocked

But seriously, their ratings dropped when production numbers went way up. And just like Tnut said, they do pay special attention to the Lexus line.

Does carmax have any room for negotiations in your experience and did you trade or sell anything to them?
Thanks for the help.

Nope.

Sticker price.

30 day test drive. Bring it back if you don’t like it.

Did not trade in anything.

Car came from Vegas

I believe they are gaining popularity in the overlanding crowd as well as "down under" although I think they are called something different there.

Looked at 7 of them summer and fall. I could not find one just right. They are fantastic vehicles, made in Japan and are a close relative of a Toyota Prado. You buy one you will never regret it. Super comfortable , beautiful ride and built like a tank.

On the one's I passed on they were either from a Rustbelt state or had been in an Accident on the Carfax report.
