I’ve killed plenty of good whitetail in Idaho over the years, including a 187” buck I’m looking at as I type this. I have never had as much fun doing so as I do on my annual trip to Illinois though. The people there are as good as they come. They are generous to a fault.

If any of you gentleman are reading this, know that I appreciate the hospitality and friendship more than you’ll ever know. Some of the memories I have collected with you over the years are amongst the most cherished in my lifetime. To that end, here are some pictures of our group.

From left to right…Garen (host and Tims cousin), myself, Matt, and Tim (TDN on the Campfire).

My big-game season is officially over. It was better than I expected and better than I likely deserved. I want to thank all of my great friends and family that made it possible. I also thank all of you reading this that took the time to share some kind words both in PMs and in the thread itself. Social media may indeed be the work of the devil, but some of your well-reasoned responses have served to remind me it's not all bad.

Merry Christmas from Idaho, as I leave you with a couple of last photos from this fall that bring me joy for one reason or another...

That certainly capped an outstanding year.

Tim mentioned he's getting you 50 lb. ankle weights for Xmas so walking that flat land will feel a little more like home.

Darn right I am!!
2023 New Year’s resolutions…
1. Make Dave feel at home in the Midwest w/ ankle weights
2. Stop showing Dave all my good hunting spots so I can tag out!!
