Hunted in a new spot, walked in blind in the dark . Hunting the side of a ridge , between a thick briar thicket bottom and a field. Had the eary feeling something was behind me around 845 , peeled my eyes to see a deer silhouette . I was hunting on the ground so moving was not an option. He finally got in front of me at about 40 50 yards. Theres something about this rifle . Ive killed my last 3 bucks with it . I never see a shooter when i tote my nice rifles!

A Marlin lever in 35 Rem should be a staple for every deer hunter.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

Yeah, everyone needs at least one 336 in the safe.
Now with even more aplomb

Nice buck and nice rifle.
I have an early '80s 336 in 35. Loaded 50 of the 200 grain Core-Lokts for it but never carried it this fall. Have to change that next year.

Congrats. Nice buck and great rifle.
If it is that lucky, I'd hunt it all the time.

Wish i knew more about these rifles. My wife inherited it from her dad 6 years ago and i took a liking to it immediately. I bought 2 boxes of hornady leverevolution and it shoots them great. About 1 inch groups at 100 . Thats through the fixed 4 power scope. The rifle has a safety which i thought was different, for a lever

Took two with a similar rifle this fall. I really like those Marlins. Wish I had bought a half dozen when they were more affordable.

If it has a safety it’s post 84. Take the first two digits of the serial number on the tang and subtract from 100, the remaining number is the last two numbers of the year it was produced. Ex: 26xxxxx would mean made in 1984.
