Just wanted to see how many are using the 150 grain eld-x in their 7mm-08. A friend of mine shot some factory loads with this bullet and said that he was really happy with how it performed so I was thinking about getting a box to try in my rifle with either big game or IMR4064 since that's what I've got. I've read and watched several videos on this bullet and it seems to me that it's basically an interlock with a plastic tip but I could be wrong.

Not in the 7mm-08 but my friend used the ELDX in his 6.5 Creed on a cow elk two weeks ago, and it performed very well.

I’ve shot them out of my 7-08, but only at paper to date. I am wanting to chase caribou next August with it. Accurate as can be, but I’ve never shot an animal with them. I have shot ELD-X’s in a lot of my guns, but the 150’s in the 7-08 were by far the most accurate for me.

Pharm must be busy. He used to push this bullet a lot.. It's a good bullet, but I've had just as good of luck getting 150gr Nosler partitions to shoot well in the 7mm08. The ELDX are much less expensive though, when you can find them. I have some buddies that don't handload and more and more of them are running Hornady precision hunter ammo. Performance has been good on deer and elk. The last bull I shot was with a 140TTSX in my little 7mm08. That bullet worked very well. I generally run big game in my 150gr ELDX loads.. Here's one from a rifle that was finicky. But it did like the 150 ELDX: Not spectacular, but it is what it is with that particular rifle. My Tikka is a lot better shooter than that Winchester.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I've got a model 70 extreme weather and it is very finicky to load for for some reason. The only thing I can get it to shoot good is 120 grain sierra pro hunters.

46.2 grains Big Game gets me 2790 fps and a dead whatever on the other end. Deer, elk, antelope. Nothing has needed a second shot. Multiple rifles, multiple shooters, all same same. I don’t think it kills any better than anything else, really it’s all about placement anyway. The Eldx sure doesn’t kill worse, though, and they’re cheaper and easier to find than any Nosler bullet. Easy to find accuracy, too, but we shoot Tikkas. Only 4 shots Three shots P

150s shot not great for me, but only tried 1 powder. Ive had decent luck with 140 and 120 in 7mm08. I have 162 ELD Xs for a 7 rem mag im looking forward to trying out.

I bought a box to try in my Shilen barreled Mod 70 FWT (7x57)...whenever I get it form the smith, ha. I have gathered up some 150 Partition, but I want a cheaper/more available bullets for load workup, etc. I have some Speer 160 Mag Tips to use for the one box of 160 Partitions I have squirreled away for same reason. The 150 ELDx sure look nice and sleek though!

That is a max load, so people should definitely work up.. I sold the Win model 70 and replaced it with a Tikka. The Tikka is a better shooter.

The heavy ELDX’s are great bullets in my book as well. Can’t beat the price either. And man they are easy accurate.

I know you specifically asked about the 7mm08 but I have experienced fantastic accuracy and on game performance from the 150gr ELD-X from my 280AckImp. I have a load that clocks 2963 from my 24in kimber and I've taken a few deer with that load from 60 to about 200yds never losing a deer or experiencing any blow ups or bullet failure. I have loaded the 143gr ELD-X for my sons Creedmoor and he also experienced fantastic accuracy and lethality. I bought another box of the 150gr ELD-X and a box of the 162gr ELD-X to use in the 280AckImp and to try in my 7x57. I like the ELD-X so well I bought some 230gr ELD-X to try in my 338-06
