Hunting iguanas with high power pellet rifles looks like fun to me.
It looks like a target rich environment.

See is you can hook up with one of the licensed alligator trappers. Used to be a guy named John French out of Naples that did it but he passed on. I went out with him catching gators once. Pretty cool experience.

Go check out the public shooting ranges and make a few buds. Just a bunch of old geezers who are full of it: http://www.gunrangenaples.com/

Get your scuba certificate and go dive for Megaladon teeth with Aqua-Nuts out of Venice. Did it with daughter and cannot wait to go again. Great day trip at $135.
Rent a kayak, grab a few baits and fish the back water for trout, specks, reds, snook. I think the iguana thing sounds like a blast.

Get a snake stick and catch pythons.

I’m in Fort Myers. For years I was in a lease with 10 guys. We leased 10,000 acres south of the Airport over to 75. Its developed now. Bass pro Shop, a College, housing, warehouses. In 1989 or so we vacated that and 3 of us had a few thousand acres for five years out Corkscrew Road. When that developed we leased 3500 acres near Clewiston on a cattle ranch for 20 years. Now I am in a Lease in Alabama for the last 5 years. Long story but the jist of it is we dont hunt much around here anymore. We fish. Shallow water is everywhere so a yak is a good option but you have to pick your days. There is a public shooting range at the Cecil Webb Area. Pretty descent one as I recall. I haven't been up there in 6 years. I sight in at our camp range in AL and don't do much shooting here.
Life can be rough on us dreamers.

I did a hog hunt with these guys last February. They are a few hours east of you. You can do either high fence over a feeder or a nighttime thermal hunt out of buggies then spot and stalk.on low fence ranches. I have done a couple thermal hunts now and they are a riot. We had a lot of fun and good guides. In the photos on the link page, top row third from the left, I am the handsome dude with the cane https://www.midfloridaoutfitters.com/wild-boar-hunting.html
