I've hired a couple, a CPA, and a handwriting expert.

never had the need. Guess I have been living right.

A couple- one engineer to testify if a well was capable of producing oil (old well with mechanical issues)- one reservoir engineer.

Yes, many. Doctors, engineers, crash reconstructionists, economists, and even some firearms experts.

Any 3rd grader could ID wabies hand writing.

Yes.
I researched, then interviewed, then hired.
I didn't finance the project, someone else did, good thing LOL.

Never had to Hire one yet.
But
I was an Unpaid (by my choice) Professional Witness in Court for a Client.

They had a Dead Beat Welder that Screwed up the Job Welding the Support Frame for their home and then Walked off the job in the middle of it.

The Husband and Wife Hired a new Welder to finish the job.

The New Welder asked them were their Weld Inspection Reports were.
They said Hu What. What are you asking fr.

Well the New Welder called me to go talk to the Wife as the Husband was over seas working to pay for their new home.

They had No Inspection Reports for any of the work that the Dead Beat Welder performed.
So we started from scratch and I hired an Ultrasonic Testing Technician that was required for all of their Complete Penetration Seismic welding.

Every Weld Failed the Test so the New Welder had to cut everything apart and re-weld everything with me as the Inspector.


about a year after the project was competed and the Husband and Wife moved into their new home.
The Dead Beat Welder Filed a Lawsuit against them for not letting him finish the Project

I took GREAT Pleasure Crucifying that Dead Beat Welder in front of the Judge.

The Couple offered to pay me.
I told them that it was part of my Inspection Duty's and that I would not take their money for my services.

The Payment was being able to Gut a bad Welder.

I have been in the Welding Trades since 1978 (Making Money) and I have been an Inspector since 3/4/89 and I really do not like people giving our Industry a Black Eye over Greed and intentional bad workmanship.

Nope. But if I ever had to, I know I would want Massad Ayoob......

I've been one dozens of times, have three active cases I'm the defense's expert on right now. I've done one case on firearms, the rest have been construction defect.

I have been an expert witness on environmental issues in both criminal and civil trials for the Federal Government. I just got my hourly wage as I worked for the Feds.
