Damn, pick a favorite Jimmy Stewart movie?
I love “Shenandoah”, “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance”, along with many of his Westerns, but holy smokes, we’re talking about one of the hottest Hollywood Stars of the ages!
Were I to pick just one, I’d have to go with “Vertigo”, Stewart and Kim Novack, Along with a young Barbara Belgedes.
It’s always been, for my moneys worth, the best he’s ever done.
(Of course, I had a boyhood crush on Kim Novack,so take as you may.)
They did another together, “Bell, Book, And Candle”, and Jack Lemon was another favorite actor of mine.
But I always thought that Audie Murphy’s “Destry” was the better. Marlene Dietrich wasn’t near as good looking as Maria Blanchard.

I think the best movie Stewart was in was The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence.

A close second is The Flight of the Phoenix.

However, I think his best acting performance (a separate matter) clearly is The Flight of the Phoenix.

^^^ This ^^^

The man was truly exceptional in every facet of his life, one of the hardest actors in history to select 1 favorite movie.

Lets not forget that in WWII he was a Captain Bomber Pilot that won the highest award the Airforce had to offer, he won the Distinguished Flying Cross. My best friend won one as well and he actually reminded me of Stewart. Not only did he win the DFC, he retired as a Brigadier General. He was the perfect choice to star in Strategic Air Command.

As mentioned Rear Window with Grace Kelly was an excellent Alfred Hitchcock movie, I remember still to this day the first time I watched it about 50 years ago how I was riveted to the screen both by the suspense as well as the beauty of Kelly.

Another Hitchcock classic was The Man Who knew To Much with Doris Day, another great movie.

The man simply made this world a better place to live.

RIP Brigadier General Jimmy Stewart.

Excepting "Its A Wonderful Life" and "Fools Parade", they were all good from the mid-to late '40s on. The very best is easily "Flight Of The Phoenix".
