i have an 870 wingmaster buttstock for a 12ga...cracked the forend some time back and replaced all the furniture.
if it'll possibly fit/work with the 16, pm a number and i'll send you a pic

12 gauge takes it's own stock. 16 and 20's should interchange.
I am always looking for factory wood stocks!

I think all the early guns the 12 the 20 and the 16 all had the same receiver until about 1968 or maybe earlier. Correct me if I'm wrong

I'll have to look at my 870 16ga with the 5 diamond forearm and see what the stock checking looks like. Got several 870 stocks, just not sure that I have one to match the period you're looking for.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

Nothing I have matches up the checkering pattern on my 5 diamonds 16ga. Wish I could have been able to help out.
