I own a Browning Automatic .22 rifle made in Belgium that was purchased in 1958. It has dovetail scope groves cut in the receiver. I want to purchase a scope for the rifle. Does anyone know whether the dovetail groves are 3/8 of an inch, 11 mm or 13 mm? Also I would appreciate any scope recommendations for the rifle.

3/8 ring will work fine.
Redfield made a little 4X scope for the Browning Auto 22, it just looks like it was ment to on that rifle.
Some of these have the Browning Buckmark on the scope, hard to find but worth looking. Try E-bay or gun shows.I found mine for $100.
This scope has a 3/4 inch tube.

They also made a rail that used the rear sight holes for mounting the scope so you didn't have to mount on the receiver. Here is one of mine with the little 4X Redfield

My rifle is exactly like the one pictured. It came with a Bushnell 3-8 Superchief .22 scope. The scope cannot be adjusted
to hit the bullseye and the windage screw came completely out of the scope. Tried shooting with open sights and the rifle was about a foot high and two inches to the left. There is little information available about this rifle on the internet. I have an instuction booklet for the later Japanese version of the rifle. Is this rifle more of a collectors rifle or a shooting rifle? I saw that one went for $335.00 at one of the auction houses two weeks ago.

Thanks,
Steeleman
