I have a Tikka T3X Superlite with a picatinny rail that I am mounting a Leupold VX-R 1.24-4x20 on. What would be a good value, good quality, 30mm ring option that is as low as possible? Thank you in advance for whatever insight/advice you would care to provide!

Ken Farrell makes the lowest 30 mm ring that I'm aware of, .735" @ $167
APA next, .750" @ $215
Then it seems there's a jump to .82" & up for all others.

Henneberger is the new low in super low 30mm scope rings that come in at a .728" height. https://www.optics-trade.eu/us/henneberger-hms-weaver-rings-30-mm.htmlI am using Ken Farrells now, but on the 2 rifles I want as light as possible I am going to try these.

I threw the rail on my Tikka away, put Talley split rings and bases on mine. Rails look like cshit on a rifle.

Looks is subjective but I use the sports match on tikkas (except a ctr) and really like them. I’ve had no issues with them.

The Sportsmatch TO84 directly to the integral rail are about as low as you can get. I have a couple rigs with them on. They have given me good service. Lots of other guys run them, too, and I never seem to come across any complaints. Main issue they have is limited ring spacing. If you have a long tubed scope, a rail offers a more appropriate option so you can get the rings as distal on the scope as possible.
The SWFA rings are close to about as low as you can get in pic rings. They are light and very sturdy.
The other way to loose some height is to get an Area 419 rail. They are a little slimmer than the various other rails I've used on Tikka's.

American Rifle Company makes the M-Brace in 0.79”. They aren’t cheap though. Built like a tank. I have a set on my Xbolt and like them.

I’ve been very happy with Warne Mountain Tech rings on a rail. However on a Tikka, if you don’t need any MOA, I’d go with Sportsmatch.

Usually use Ken Farrell but he’s out of stock right now. I love the Farrells for 100% bullet proof reliability, but they are on the heavy side and are not aesthetically pleasing on a custom hunting rifle. They literally look like a component that came off of a Tank. The Europeans think highly of Henneberger products, especially because he used to be head of hunting rifle production at Heym: "Rudolf Henneberger is a trained master gunsmith and decides to found his own company in Münnerstadt in 1966. From 1971, Henneberger worked parallel to his company as head of hunting rifle production at F. W. Heym GmbH & Co. KG. 1987 Hennerberger ends his activity at Heym when his son Frank enters his own business and turns it into a family business. First as a trainee and later as the manager of the company, Frank Henneberger, like his father, is committed to high-quality work on hunting weapons."

Heavy side? Huh? Ken Ferrell aluminum low 30mm rings are just 1.65 oz each! Lighter than most. And I actually think they are more aesthetically pleasing than a lot of rings out there. Ever seen ARC MBRACE rings? Fugly!

Ever seen ARC MBRACE rings? Fugly! SD, my Farrells are made in Steel and are heavier than any other rings I have. I have not tried the Aluminum ones.
