Thanks! It is definitely a departure from my norm. I tend toward being pretty conservative and old school. Lately my son has been shooting an optic mounted M&P and he is a much better handgunner than he was before the dot sight. I fiddled around with his enough to get curious and wanted to give the dot some serious effort. I was going to go to the Gen 5 G17 MOS, but a local shop has a bunch of these Shadow System pistols in stock. The more I researched them the more I liked them. With the low backstrap this feels much like a 1911 and points very naturally for me. The optics mount system is fantastic. There are no plates to fool with, the sight sits super low and mounts directly to the slide and uses some serious size screws to anchor it. The gun is accurate and when shooting fast it is very flat without a significant muzzle flip. I am enjoying stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something new to me.

Congrats Han Solo, it looks very futuristic and neat. I hope you enjoy it. Post some reviews if you don't mind, I'm not familiar with that product line.

Price wise, if you add the usual improvements to a factory Glock you are in that price point. It should be as reliable. I like them but don't own one.

The more I learned about the Shadow Systems guns the more I liked them. Made in Texas, kinda like a highly customized Glock but with some unique feature improvements of their own.

I don't have pics of groups, but the accuracy is there. I sighted at 25 yards on a 3" shoot and see target. At first some 115 gr. Blazer aluminum case FMJ to get the dot close. Then I fine tuned the sight in with the Federal 147 gr. HST hollowpoints that I'll keep the mag loaded with. The dot makes shooting groups easy peasy and on a fresh target 25 rounds of the HST left a black outer ring stuck to the backer with the center shot away. So definitely sub 3" @ 25 yards and that was 25 shots fired on the target.
The trigger on my sample was the worst of the half dozen I handled that day. That is my one complaint, this trigger is no better than a stock Glock Gen 5 trigger. The other guns had better triggers but they weren't in the configuration I wanted. I'll put a case of ammo through it and go from there. If the trigger smooths out in that process I may be alright with it. If I don't see an appreciable difference I will consider some options. That shop keeps the Timney Glock trigger in stock and that is likely what I would swap into the gun.

MOG,
If you do not mind my asking what did you give for it?
I am kinda tempted to try their version of the 45.

The sticker price in my local shop was $875 for the gun. I get an LE discount and he made me a better deal. I'm considering another, probably an optic cut CR or Combat Model of one sort or another.
