Yeah, that's what I do. But glancing at the front page, 3/4 of it is those type threads, and add another 4 or 5 threads about how "those" threads are ruining things, I'm leaving because of it, ...etc., etc., and pretty soon you have a pretty toxic dilution of what the whole thing is.

As someone mentioned, you don't have to participate, or even look. You can always just not show up for the chit show. Many have taken that route.

If you want to solve the problem ---

1. Go to members list.
2. Sort it by post count.
3. Look at what forums the members with 10K+ posts are posting in.
4. If 90% are on The Hunters Campfire, put them on ignore.

If everyone did that, the site would return to the adults.

Of course everyone knows what you mean, but if you took the waste of wabigoon, slummy and rene out of the posting, you would be left with little but chatter about firearms, ammunition and hunting.

How about this for toxic-

The same 5 guys non-stop criticize their chosen "poster of the day". Different guy every day, or week, but rest assured, they will be bashing someone. Dare to speak against them? Prepare for your helping, it's assured and on the way. The more you resist the idiocy, they and their sockpuppets compound the ridicule. It shuts the site down. Everyone else scatters for fear of having some stranger on the innernet call them names. LOL

Don't bode well for America when conservative people are too cowardly to stand up for themselves against ass holes on the innernet, let alone in person. I guess nobody here had to smash a bullies face in to shut him up?

Or constant non-stop bad news, that's not toxic? Is it fun, healthy, encouraging, light spirited, any of the above?

Someone cracking jokes and playing the long game with subtle humor is the least of this sites worries. If Rick wants to improve the site the first thing he could do is eliminate posters that run sockpuppets and disrupt normal discourse with character attacks. But it won't happen.

Everyone has to choose whether to stay or go under the circumstances Rick runs the place under. It's his choice whether to paint the walls green or blue.

I just scroll past any thread that doesn't interest me. But constantly mag dumping all of those idiotic threads pushes the rest of the threads to page four or five and they get lost before the people who would be interested in them get a chance to participate.

It's a schitty way to behave on a forum. I don't understand what people get out of it.

Seems like judicious and swift use of the Miscellaneous sub forum would help.
