Don't know but last fall I picked up a pre 64 m88 in 308 in pretty decent shape for 699. If that helps the other chamberings bring more . mb

Joe pretty sure that the 308 is the most common chambering and in my experience all things being equal a 243 commands a slight premium. A 1965 gun would have the impressed basket weave checkering and some improvements to the internals (firing pin?) when compared to the pre64 guns.

Post-64 in 243, tops IMO is $1k and that better be both mint condition (no marks or dings on the stock or metal) and complete. No stock modifications, no recoil pad, sites are fully intact, and not missing the front sight hood. If it were a pre-64, the value would go up a few hundred more. Is it a rifle or a carbine? The carbine is worth substantially more.
That said, prices on 88s are all over the place. As usual, everyone thinks their chit is worth a small pot of gold. Know for sure what you're getting into before making the purchase and again, the condition is everything here.

This is all 100% correct. 308 is the most common and least valuable and a 65 would have basket weave checkering vs cut checkering on the pre-64s.
