It's the perfect breakfast for a cold day in the stand or one the ice. I'm usually to lazy to do anything but the instant but fresh fruit makes I better. A co worker turned me on to using coffee instead of water. I do it occasionally with coffee it works well

I was making the Quaker instant, with 1/2 & 1/2 ,butter and honey in it.
When i went on my diet,i tried making it with just water,it tasted terrible.
I went without rather than try and choke it down.

regular oat meal and I'm hungry again in 2 hrs. Our local bulk foods store has a 5 grain rolled cereal, I'm not sure what the other 4 grains are. A little honey, some chopped walnuts, and some hulless pumpkin seeds and you've got a breakfast that lasts until lunch.

If you can find it, Red River cereal is good.

Yep.
Red Mill, extra thick steel cut.

Steens pure Ribbon cane syrup with raisins and cinnamon and maybe a splash of evaporated milk.

Finishing up a bowl now. Old Fashioned with a scoop of vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, and some honey. The old fashion oats don't seem to cook as well as the 1 minute oats in the microwave. If I leave them in any longer they boil over.

Mash up 2 bananas, dice 2 apples, T spoon cinnamon, 1/4 cup raisins, 1/4 cup walnuts, 2 cups rolled oats, 1 cup milk, sweeten to taste. Mix and bake in a casserole dish till light brown on top. This is my healthy apple pie substitute.

I also eat it hearty by boiling it in chicken broth with onions, peppers, and garlic.

Fruit, nuts, and raw honey or brown sugar. Some times a little cinnamon.

Old fashion or steel cut, haven't heard anyone mention real maple syrup, real maple syrup is my go to. Along with regular almond milk.
