I'm a bit late to this conversation but will add my experience. I've used the 230 ELD-X a fair bit in the 338-06. It took me a while to find an accurate load. For whatever reason my rifle wasn't really liking these bullets. Then I tried H414 and bingo. They shoot very well. I'm getting 2630 in a 22-inch barrel with 62.0 grains. The case is full! I slowly worked up and no pressure signs...I just can't fit anymore powder in the case...I actually tap in down before seating the bullet. Velocity is about where it should be and no pressure signs so called it good. Have shot probably 300 rounds. Killed three animals, 1 deer and 2 elk. Deer was a pass through. Both elk caught the bullet. Both broadside one 80 yards the other 250. Good mushroom and both elk died quickly like they are supposed to.
