Damn! I'm jealous. I'd be happy to own just one of those.

I wanted to buy one starting in the late 1970s, but kept putting it off till they stopped making them, and the prices on the used ones went way up.

Definitely more pricy ( worth it)

Never had a great interest, but I always thought that, if one were interested in shooting black powder revolver, that would be the one to get.

I'd pit my Pietta Sheriff's Model Remington New Army .45 cap and ball revolver up against the Ruger Old Army in terms of reliability. Its fixed sights are perfectly regulated, too.

It's boringly reliable.

I’ve never broken anything, so I can’t really measure reliably.

I can say that attempting a proof charge full cylinder of bullseye didn’t do anything and the fact it uses LC conversion cylinders speaks to strength

You’re missing a .45 Colt conversion.

Or maybe just playing it cagey with your “ghost gun”. I hear they shoot nicely, and with a Belt Mountain base pin are pretty easy to load.
