Hey Guys,

Just picked up my exit rifle...and absolutely cherry and original 1953 model 70 in 30-06 with the low comb stock. Im going to be mounting a scope and using the rifle and have some questions about ring height. I picked up a Swaro Z3 in 3-9x36 4a and using will be using Talley fixed rings. The signature bases are on the way but am unsure of if that scope in low rings will clear the bolt handle. Any thoughts?

You can go about this low before the bolt handle starts rubbing. Those were Talley lows. Probably very similar in height to the steel Talley's you are going to use. I've used all sort of rings and bases on these rifles, but still much prefer the Leupold DD's for standards and featherweights and the Warne steel bases and rings for the H&H models. YMMV. Good luck with it..
