Been paying .gov taxes for 60 years. never been audited, but then I'm not rich in $$$. bet the majority here are the same.?

I've relied on Tax software at the end of the process to tell me my odds of being audited. Before the $25K standard deduction it was mostly medical claims and charity that I was worried about - I didn't keep good documentation for either.
I don't think I make enough for them to care.
I pay quarterly and last year I fat fingered the number and ended up claiming I paid $1300 more in advance than I really did.
They let me know pretty quick I better pay it, but I wasn't audited.

Not much chance of an audit when all income is on a W-2, and 1099 while taking standard deduction.

Among the collection of letters after my wife’s name is CPA. I don’t lose any sleep over tax matters. Same here. Wife is a CPA. Only audited once. So far.

Got audited one time 40+ years ago When we got done agent said you will never be audited again. So far its true
