It was $5.99 for a case of returnables whilst I was attending St. Cloud State. I drank more than a few. Old McSwamp water. I always liked it. The counter guys at Coborns Liquor would always check the returned cases for missing bottles. It was rare to bring back a full 24 empties.

I never did like it. But at 16 yr old couldn't be choosy. Me and my buddies lived in the country and would go to town and try to chase the rich town chicks. Never had any luck but got drunk and had fun trying while beating up the wimpy city boyfriends .Great memories.

I think we paid $6.99 for returnables. I drank enough to fill lake Michigan.

Old Milwaukee 6 pack, a half gallon of Gatorade per week, & the rest water was all I could afford when I got divorced. And I'll be damned if Ol Milwaukee wasn't bought out and got changed & wasn't worth a damn after that.
Hard times, or maybe the best, livin on wild game & fish. Only if I could have had a few good beers

Darkey beer the only ones I've ever seen drinking that swill. Usually sipping it, setting on curb, while mumbling! And pissing on themselves! Observed this years ago in Reno!

Have any of you boys drank JAX Beer?

Have any of you boys drank JAX Beer? I believe it was gone before my time. My earliest beer drinking was Anheuser Busch products with my older cousins. My aunt and uncle owned a distributorship back then.

Never had any JAX but the grocery store had 12 oz 6 packs of beer in a white can that said beer on it just like the great white north Boys , Bob and Doug Mackensie drank in all their videos. It was cheap and ok . Still think PBR is the best for a red beer with olives. Ah the bad old days...mb

Old Milwaukee in a keg wasn't bad, last time I drank it was probably 25 years ago? I'm not a beer snob, PBR is my fave.

There was a food joint next to the university campus that had extra cheap pitchers of beer on Fridays. They'd put on a keg of whatever was the cheapest from their suppliers.

Back in 78, a fellow freshman at college took his Blazer every night to the local distributor and bought a case of Old Mil 16's. He then closed himself in his room until the next day. How he made it through the year, I don't know, but we didn't see him after that.

Grew up with the crap. 60 miles west of Milwaukee. The old man drank whatever was cheap. Got paid on my first real job and quickly switched to Bud and JD. Wait…Bud was an upgrade? 🍺🤭

Ol’ mil got sneaky and made their packaging real similar for their regular and NA beers. Lesson learned.
