The shotgun is 3 inch Mod. It appears all work was done at H&R with each barrel serial numbered to the gun.

There are a lot more ½" rifles than ½" shooters.

I had one similar to this, but nickel plated with a 12 guage barrel. The shotgun barrel was no fun to shoot. But the 30-30 with spitzer bullets was great.

Dad made all of us fill our first deer tag with one of these in a .30-30. 125 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips were the ticket. GLWS. Nice little combo.

Any idea where one would acquire a new rear sight for this? Would H&R still stock them? I have a sick fetish for 30-30's especially ones that aren't your typical lever. I also killed my first grouse with a 20 gauge version of this.

The rear sight is just a folding sight similar to a 10-22. The sight needs to be removed for the scope base to fit.

A WTB ad here on the 'fire may even yield a rear sight.

Try Greybeard Outdoors. They have a section devoted to H&R collectors and shooters.
