How can you tell if a used stock was made for a one piece or two piece floor plate. Winchester model 70 . thanks

Maybe ring them up. If they can't help likely they can refer you.
You should be sure other stock factors match your rifle if swapping. Most likely not a drop in!

The one piece inlet is larger and doesn't have the mid screw notch. Google Model 70 floorplate conversion. It's a plastic piece that allows a one piece inlet stock to use a 2 piece bottom metal. What is will show you is the outer geometry is for 1 piece and inner cut out is what 2 piece inlet would look like. Without a photo that's the best way I can describe it.

The mid screw notch isn’t super reliable.
Just take a good look at the inlet.
The one piece is deeper.
