Picked up a seekins element in 6.5cm and put an swfa 3-9× on it in seekins rings. Weighs 7#2oz with a 3 rnd mag in it.

So I loaded up 40-42.5gr of h4350 and shot them. 42.5 had some primer flattening starting. Loaded up 20rnds at 42gr and went to shoot.

Shot 3 and they were like .3mils left and 2.5mils high. Came down 2.5 mils and shot a 10 round group that was probably ~3/4" or so. Didn't measure it, looking at it was good enough for me to be happy with it for 10 shots.

Elevation was good. I just dialed it .3mils right and shot 1 and it was centered. That little barrel was hot after 11 rounds though.

I figured I'd be real close to 2700fps with that charge. Put 2700 in jbm and went to 605yds and it put 3 shots into ~4" and elevation was right on.

Rounds 1-6 for pressure.

Rounds 7,8 and 9 got me on paper at 100

Made my elevation adjustment and shot rounds 10-19into a 10 shot group.

Made my windage adjustment and shot round 20 and it was centered to poa.

Shot rounds 21, 22 and 23 on steel at 605 and this rifle is done with load workup.

I've got 15# of h4350 and 1476 147elds left so this rifle is set for awhile 😂

That’s awesome. I’ve been trying to decide it I want one of these or tikka build for my kid. This sure looks like the easy button

Thanks for sharing the details.

Question, is the forend from the front swivel or bipod location back to the magwell flat? Like a constant slope, even if the forend is slightly rounded? I’ll want to add an 12” arca rail, I can’t tell from the website if it’s flat. Some of my Mcmillans are not and I have to add spacer shims or bed the rail which id like to avoid.

Appreciate any intel

Yes, it is flat from front to back. I added an SRS mini arca rail to this one. You can see it in the first pic.

Appears eager to please.

I handled one last week - nice rifle. The folks that have them sure seem happy with them.

I have a Seekins Havak Element in .308 with seekins rings and Swarovski Z5 2.4-12x50 BT 4W and I love this gun, easy to carry and shoots great.

Want to get a second Element in 6mm Creedmoor!

I picked one up in 6.5 CM after they came out. Shoots my generic 6.5 load great. Really nice little rifles and a lot of ingenuity in the design of the action.

They're light rifles but if the stock was lighter it would a true featherweight.

Only real gripe I have is the bubble level in the rail. When shooting it's useless...doesn't hurt anything but it doesn't help anything either.

JCMCUBIC, ya I think the stock weighed close to 2# iirc. I have another 6.5cm on a 700 in a mcm game scout that I put together with a criterion remage barrel. It's a heavy sporter contour at 24". That rifle is ~9.5# WITH a 3-12 LRHS on top. That rifle shot this same load into 1" for 10 shots. Point is I'm shooting this in a couple rifles too. The bubble level is pretty much a joke for sure.

I may back off another 1/2gr on the charge weight and shoot another 10 shot group out of both rifles and see how they do.

Of course I could call it good and just shoot some small 3 shot groups for internet bragging pics and call it a 1/4minute rifle like what seems to happen alot.....grin

I have to laugh at myself when it comes to reloading. I'm not an "absolute most accurate load" or "looking for speed" guy.... If I have a generic load that's MOA in multiple rifles I'll take it over rifle specific loads that are .5 MOA any day of the week. Nothing wrong with finding "the load" for a rifle but I'm a generic SOB...or maybe just lazy...and fine with full length sizing and using the same ammo in multiple rifles. That generic 6.5 CM load has been great in a Havak PH1, multiple Fieldcrafts, and the Element.

Took my 6.5 CM that I recently assemble to the range last week, broke it in with some Hornady ammo, 129 Spire Points, a bullet that I use for any cartridge I can. I used it a lot when I handloaded but now just buy loaded ammo. Range performance was poor, best three shot group was about 1.5" but inconsistent. Wasn't sure if it was the ammo or my DIY build so I bought some ammo locally, limited options, and found some Federal ammo with 140 Berger Hybrid Target bullets. Checked my receiver screws, my scope screws and added my suppressor and headed to the range yesterday. Rifle really likes the Bergers, I'm thinking maybe the 129 HSPs are a better fit for the slower twisted 260 Rem. This three shot group was .244", I shot a 4 shot group at .75" but the nut behind the trigger was a bit loose on that round.

Thanks, the pre-fit parts options make it pretty easy these days, the hard part is getting all of the "parts" plus receivers have become pricey!

I continue to be impressed with my 6.5cm Element.
It is a true 1/2” hunting rifle with factory 143ELDX. Cold bore is right inside the group at POA like it should be.
That’s the shot that counts IMO on a hunting rifle.
Developing a load with 130 VLDH over R16 now.
Showing solid promise from 42 - 44.1 grains running almost 2900fps on the high side.

That’s a solid shooter. A Seekins in 6mm CM with 21” tube is in my shirt list. Glad to hear others are having success with them shooting well.

I'd like to handle one of these. Looks to check every box I'd be looking to check. If I decide to replace my Tikka T3, something from Seekins is very much going to be at or near the top of the list!
