That's not done through a legislative process? They just go "we're making this a law" without it circulating through different bodies of elected officials prior to being signed off on?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am in error, but the way I understand it, the possession and use of firearms in Canada and Australia is a permission granted by the govt to the people. That permission can be revoked at the will of govt. In our constitution, it is an enumerated right and cannot be revoked without changing the constitution. ie...the 2A repealed or amended.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

So, it seems the state is worried it's gestapo is going to be targeted by precision high yield rifle cartridges. They must be planning some significant social changes coming up soon. I'd call this action they're taking a canary on a coal mine.
28 Nosler, too. But left the 7mm Rem Ultramag, 338Win and 375 H&H off their list. This makes no sense. They are ignorant. Similar to Canada outlawing any rifle that could be gunsmith converted to a 460 Weatherby, so no Ruger #1 or Weatherby Mk V 9 lug actions.
