A guy tried to get through airport security in NOL with an AR and 6 loaded mags, 163 rounds of ammo. I'm sure he just overlooked it when he packed his carry-on bag. Is he some kind of idiot?

LOADED AR

People from NOLA are not known for intelligence.

Imagine a corporate oligarchy so effective, so advanced and fine tuned that its citizens still call it a democracy.

Same happened in the Anchorage airport at check-in. Pre TSA obviously. As the rifle (340wby IIRC) was being pulled from the case it went off right next to the female counter agent's ear... deaf in that ear ever after.

Local news story this am outta Murderapolis stated some (IIRC) 6,000+ guns have been removed from people flying out of MSP International.... That surprised me - never thought that many people would be so unaware of where they were going that they would forget they're carryin' a firearm...

Maybe it was Cash's wife just letting everyone know she is armed like he taught her! LOL!!!

Fifteen years ago, I was on a hunting trip in Ks. While there I bought a magazine for an AR. I had it in my carry on, unloaded and still in a cellophane wrapper. I had checked two shotguns, no AR. When they screened that bag, I was give a back room interrogation and they kept the magazine. This was at the Wichita airport.
I should have known better, I had forgotten it was in my carry on, but I can’t fathom forgetting that I had a firearm in my carry on.

In my opinion he sure qualifies as an idiot, and most likely a liar. How do you "overlook" something like that when you know you are going through airport security ???

The law is clear that we can't carry a gun onto an airplane. So, why do they say that this guy is facing a possible $15k fine? If it's a felony, why not jail time? This looks to me like a TSA fund raiser.

There was a guy here in Rochester airport a few months ago "court judge's husband" had one in an arm sling.
And said "he forgot"·

Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

I had a stray 300wsm round in my duffle I was carrying on board. I spent a little bit of time in a white room with lots of mirrors and a few TSA agents and one local PD. I had no idea what was going on until they showed it to me. We laughed about killing big elk and they let me go, without my stray round.

I spent 13 years screening passengers and honestly thought I was doing a good thing and keeping our Country safe. I started in 2003. Things sure did change over the years and I got to where I lost all faith in what I was having to do every day was doing more to violate people's rights than to keep people safe.
It's a fact if bad people want to do bad things they will find a way
