Does anyone have any experience wth this rifle? They aren't cheap.

I have a bad shoulder and I would like a quick twist 223. Would I be better off going custom? This rifle would primarily used for deer and predators in KY. Hogs in GA also this fall. Thanks.

I would want to know how much room the magazine allows. You might also consider a tikka and the new 700’s are listed to have a 1-8” twist barrel. Who knows when they’ll be available though.

I would never talk a man out of building a 223 to the specs you wish though. Haha. You have as good of a reason as anyone not that you need a reason though.

The Sako 75/85 223 Varmint's had a 1:8 heavy bbl and a magazine that would allow for ~2.3" COAL. I suspect the Carbonlight uses the same magazine.

There is no "easy button" for a turnkey factory 223 with a mag box that'll accommodate a ~2.5" COAL. Closest/easiest would be converting a 700 over to AICS mags that allow for a 2.5" COAL.

If the weight is acceptable a tikka ctr is a easy button. Next easiest would be a tikka with the mountain tactical magazines if they’re available and work. After that it’s as you say changing bottom metal and magazines

Don't hold me to it, but I think it's 2.6". I am not near the rifle right now. It's long though. Plenty for about anything you could get through an 8 twist and stabilize.

I never measured the magazine for the ctr. I already had my load by using a modified t3 magazine. I was unhappy with the feeding which could be my fault. Either way when I switched stocks bottom metal and went to the ctr magazine my cartridges fit fine. 75 grain amax for what it’s worth.
