I did in 6th. grade by old Mrs. Thompson. I say old because my dad had her when he was in 6th. grade also. She had a rule "no snowballing" which meant not to throw snowballs. Well she caught us & called us in early from recess & had us lineup in front of the chalk board. Luckily I was at the end of the lineup and by the time she got to me she was pretty much winded & could hardly swing the paddle.

if a man speaks, and there isn't a woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?

There were rumors that Mrs. Farrell had a belt in grammar school but I don’t know anyone who suffered it.

Paddling in elementary school was a joke. They used one of them little paddles that came with a rubber band and a rubber ball attached. (after removing the rubber band and ball)
Paddlings in high school were no joke. The Principle had played college football and the paddles were made in the wood shop from white oak and were about 3 feet long.
They'd put somebody in jail today for beating a kid like they did us.
I got a couple. But I tried to avoid them.

Also, had a teacher, throw a chalk board duster, at me.
Caught it, & fired it out the window.

It was that or 30 minute detention after school. Most of us chose to get paddled rather than stay after school. We would get them for talking too much, late for class, fighting, acting up,....just being general knotheads. Looking back I can't think of a single one that I didn't deserve.

No. My parents had a rule. If you go out and someone has to paddle you because you misbehaved you got another one when you got home. That meant at school, out with friends and their parents or out with relatives. The one at home would have been worse than the one out. To this day I still think it’s a good policy.

I got a couple. But I tried to avoid them. You got paddled.....in high school? Yeah. A lot of people did. True story. Every year the seniors went on a trip to Shiloh Tennessee. The year we were seniors the gas crunch hit and they decided that we were only going to Fort Donaldson in order to save money. Everybody revolted. Half the class skipped school that day. The next day, the half of the class that skipped school got paddled. The Principal paddled the boys and the female P.E. teacher paddled the girls. The day after that I walked into school and the whole hallway was filled up with pissed off parents. The Principal didn't come back for the following school year. That High School ended up being a bit notorious a couple of decades later. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heath_High_School_shooting

You guys are total light in the ass, haha, where I grew up we fought at least a couple times a week, from first to ninth anyway, we got licks from every teacher, coach, principal . I broke a record in ninth grade in one class, drafting class, coach was teacher , 68 in one semester, he could pick you off the ground, you walked out and grabbed your ankle’s and he would lite you up . I moved to Texas for 10th grade on never got another , football changed my life, we would fight on football field in practice, no licks,

Oh yeah... 1970 was brutal for the homie in 1st grade. And a bunch of homies friends he grew up with. We got the hardwood yard stick across the palms . Anna Dickinson. Musta been a billion yrs old retiring that year and like to make it known . I'm sure she knew corporal punishment was being 86,d soon. So she was probably getting her last licks for kicks in. Can't imagine how she could swing that yardstick when younger, so maybe me and my buds didn't get it as bad as prior gens under her...
My mom had her for a 1st grade teacher in like 1950 or 51 for gawd sakes.
Never forget that old hag......
