As I start to look into having a RMR mounted on my Para I'm finding it a little overwhelming trying to determine what to buy.Does any plate work on my Para because I see plates saying they're for glocks, springfields ,etc.My Para is basically a 1911 so do I need a plate for a 1911 only?I'm probably going to get a Holosun sight but I see plates that claim to be "universal" meaning they will accept many manufacturers? Also I see comments like "will fit any slimline slide with an RMSc cut"--thats what it said on a Holosun 507c ad

I have a Para-Ordnance P12-45 with an RMR that mounted on a plate from EGR that mounted to the Novak dovetail. I don’t remember what the original sight slot looked like. I’d make you a good deal on the plate and RMR as I’ve gone back to the iron sights.

My other auto is a .45

Are you talking about a plate that mounts in the rear sight dovetail?

If you have the RMR cut machined into the slide, you can mount your RMR directly to the slide without any adaptor plate.

It's kind of a rabbit hole, figuring all the RDS stuff out. From what I've been able to glean off the net, it seems the two most popular cuts are either the RMR cut, or the Doctor cut.

If you're machining the slide, pick your optic and have it machined to mount directly.

When I was in the market to get this done last month it boiled down to two. ZR TACTICAL is the one I went with. They use a sight plate with back up sights. The other one I found was GREEN TICK TACTICAL. They do a direct milling so the dot screws directly to the slide. The direct mount option looks nice but losing irons swayed me back to the plate option. IMO, if you want slimline go with the Holosun 507K, the 507C is the same size as a RMR.

ZR Tactical has a 2 day turn around and is only $150 if you supply the plate.
