Anyone know the going rate for one of these? I found on either FS or sold that went for north of $1300. Seems a bit steep, but it was the only one I saw.
What says the masses??

That seems about right, I’m afraid. The 453 has the Single Set Trigger, which is highly sought after by some.

Yep. Dead on. Like Basher said the set trigger is highly desirable to some.

A 452 with fantastic wood recently went for $2K on Gunbroker. As others have said above, with the set trigger, the 453 is in pretty high demand, if you come across one for <= $1K, snatch it up.

Thanks for the insight gents! Does the same apply for the 453 American?? I recall a later run of them, so maybe not as rare?

I had the American, and it was a fine shooter, however the ergos with that set trigger didn’t work for me; I found the bolt was always hitting my trigger finger, very distracting.
It loved RWS SSHPS and Aguila Rifle Match just about equally, which is to say a lot! Still, I can’t imagine paying $1300 for one. If that’s the going rate, I sure wish I still had mine, to sell!
What fresh Hell is this?

Damn! I reckon I got rid of mine too soon too. It was the only rifle I ever had that would shoot the H.V, stuff well. Mini Mags, Velocitors and Stingers. The faster it was the better it shot. Wasn't worth a damn with anything slow.

I have a 452 Varmint with plain Jane wood, never thought of selling it but surprised at how much they have gone up as of late

Dave284, that’s the exact opposite of mine. Shoots HV OK but shoots basically 1 raggedy hole with CCI SV OR Aguila.

That's what I expected when I bought it.

I have a CZ 527 in 22 Hornet that I believe has been discontinued in the 527 model. Bought it new years ago and sent the mag. off to a guy to have it shortened to a 3 round mag so it fits flush with bottom....he did 2 of these mags for me. It has the set trigger and is a tack driver with 40 gr. handloads. Turn a coyote inside out at 100 yds.
