I have been following this thread with mild interest, as have a lot of people, for quite a few days now. I dont intend to "weigh in" and get in the middle of this thing because I have absolutely nothing to add to what has been said. I agree with what you said in your second paragraph Troublsom1 for the most part but it seems to me that the spewing of venom and discontent has been taken up by most everybody. I wont waste space by trying to reiterate what has already been said and give my spin on what it means as that would be pointless. The point I am trying to make is that this whole thing needs to be put down for good. It has become old and crabby and painful for all involved. It has descended to nothing more than childish name calling and it no longer serves any useful purpose that I can see. The bet appears to be off and the principals involved dont appear to be eager to resurrect it. This site was created for outdoorsmen to get together for the free exchange of ideas and information and the longer this thread lives the more it disrespects that person (I assume Rickbin, but I dont know) and his idea/vision when he created it. I read this on the internet somewhere and it seems to fit here. Dont mean to offend or I'm not calling anybody anything or talking about anybody's family. I wish I were able to put my thoughts as eloquently as Big Stick or as humorously as Moosie, but all I know is horses, cows and tractors and that don't make for much of an orator. Rancher, on a lighter note, where abouts out there. My wife and I lived in the Taos area for a couple of years back before the turn of this century. She worked for the Indian Health Service and I loafed around shooting things! We did a lot of wandering on weekends and quite a bit during the week when she was doing home visits.
