Is there any data available on the # of EG models made in 308 caliber. I believe I read here once that an EG in 308 was kind of rare in that model compared to the 300 sav. caliber.

I would not use the word rare, it is relatively uncommon, but exact numbers are unknown.

243 Eg on the other hand: is rare

The great majority of EG's were produced in 300 Savage probably because they were available in that caliber from 1935 to 1959. The EG was only available in 308 from about 1955/56 until 1959. Probably more EG's were produced in 308 than 300's in the 1955 to 1959 period. Plus it appears that a lot more 99F's were produced in that period than 99EG's.

Interesting. I would like to have an EG in 308 but haven't seen one for sale. Since I bought my first 308, 99F, years ago it quickly became my favorite round.

You must be mistaken. The 99F in 308 kicks so hard it rattles the dentures out. It kicks so hard you wake up next week. It kicks so hard you have to walk 20 yards to retrieve your shoes. It kicks so hard, well, it just kicks so hard it hurts, alot.

That's what I've heard.

Lol. That's what I hear but haven't experienced it. Maybe I have a magic rifle because it's a pleasure to shoot. I find my M70 in .270 and my EG in 300S are way more brutal.

Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, able to shoot 308 F’s without blinking, etc, etc, etc. Blah, blah, blah. Yawn.

I understand some people don't like to shoot them. Some people they don't seem to bother. People are different, get over it and yourself.

Maybe you should bottle up all that inner hostility and head out west, unleash it on all us pilgrims.
