Blaine, you just took this too serious. Oh what the hey, we increased traffic on the site, played with DFC's ego a bit. Don't know about everybody, but I sure had a bunch of laughs at times. Ol Danny boy reminds me of an old cartoon character, Maj Hoople from "Our Boarding House" the way he can bluster, I was waiting for the HARUMPH!

My only excuse for many of my posting will forever be "DA devil made me do it!".

Ankle Biter 6 will now sit back, chuckle a bit and head for bed knowing this is one Soap Opera that finally did have an end. I shall remember it as "AS THE WORM TURNS"

I'm afraid I may be in the same situation as you.

I truly thought IIFIDs was gonna smoke check DFC on this one. By posting my thoughts on this situation I may have alienated myself a bit from the main crowd.

I'll be the first to admit that I have neither the resources, nor even the cajones, to make a bet like the one here. I've never been much of a gambler, which is perhaps my one and only virtue. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Ya know, after IIFID and DFC took this post of Scott's for a ride (both should share the blame) I think one or the other of them should buy the rifle for the asking price and donate it to some youth-orientated group as a fund raiser.

Does this sound like a proper way to end this fiasco?

I don't see where anybody is obligated to buy this rifle. It's been reposted a couple of times, and can be reposted many more times. This argument did not prevent the sale of the rifle. It brought a ton of attention to it, and it still didn't sell.

The one thing I'm curious about here is, why did this go for so long? There have been lots of these little shooting matches on this board, but they don't go on for more than a page or two. Why did this particular one go on for 26 pages and over 900 posts? Why did so many of us get involved?

As for me, I never take part in these things. Why did I, this time? I think it was because Frankie staked out such a totaly indefenceable position from the start. He came off as such a dislikeable character I couldn't resist. Then too, some of it was pretty funny.

Frankie would have lost this bet if he hadn't found a way out. If he thought otherwise, he would have jumped back in. In spite of all the bluster, he knows. His only recourse would have been to squeeze what little revenge out of it he could get by draging it out for as long as possible. He FedEx'd checks, contacted lawyers, drew up papers, (his lawyer must think he's a fool) and grabed the first lifeboat he could see. He knows.

It didn't take long to flip through the 20 pages of threads and come to one simple conclusion:

DFC is one childish individual with a very low self esteem and zero respect for others. Judging from his vocabulary and name calling, I would rate him on the same intellectual level as a 4 or 5 year old child, with a real mouth full of nasty words. I can see him now, sitting in front of the computer, picking his nose.... a grown (physically) man with a pot belly and unshaven beard, wearing GI JOE pajammas and an stick on "I LUV MOM" tatoo on his arm. This is one crusty, disturbed individual.

I would however, be very interested in hearing some of the knowledge he possesses since he has forgotten more than anyone here will ever know about guns <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />.

I am new here & just got done reading this thread. You know that kids might be on here reading this ? And you all act like little 7th grader's. What a way to show your true self. I think all of you did just that. Why a webmaster or owner would let you all talk to each other like that on a pulic board is beyond me. My kids wont be reading off this site anymore. There are much better groups of people out there. If the site owner reads this I sure hope he will see what intelligent people you are, if you can stop pissing on each other.

BTW: It dont matter who flames me for this, I really dont care. But you should !

you base this entire board off of this one thread? I can see who is the 7th grader here. You're more than welcome to have your children visit another board and your correct they shouldn't read some of the language that was displayed here. Take them elsewhere and show them your version of Amerika ... the one where censorship runs rampant! While your at it ... supressing the Constitution ... take your kids BB guns away and teach them to be good little slaves of the state! Stop being an idiot ... take responsibility for your children and don't blame the internet because they learned something you didn't want them to know! Otherwise it will be Hillary Clinton's village that will be raising your kids!



I'll take the good ole USA any day of the week ... it isn't perfect ... but it is the best invented so far.
