Uncle has 2 of those. One is rough, rusty, needs a new fuel tank, tranny slips, and the 351 engine is pretty tired. The 2nd need floor pans and some HVAC plumbing for the AC/heat but the 400 and transmission are good to go.

Grandpa had one of those for 25+YRS, it's what I used to learn how to drive a standard transmission.

My first car in HS, 55 Merc., traded it in for a new 67 Mustang when I graduated from College. Wish I had kept both.

That color! Is that "Plum Crazy Purple"? My dad's "Purple People Eater" was that color. My (blonde) mother was in the shop the night he painted it and she graduated High School with a purple tint in her hair from being in there.

I had a tunnel ram on my '69 Mustang Fastback....many years ago.
429 big block, dual 750 hollys, direct port Nitrous Oxide, locker rear end, 31 spline axles, manual shift body C6, 3500rpm stall, ported heads and on and on.

And yes, I know in '69, Ford didn't put 429's in Mustangs. I did.

Tony

Edited to add: The motor would spool to 8,000rpm, but it was best to shift at 7,200.
