For sale Beautiful 1949 Winchester model 70 30/06. Appears to be completely original (except glass bedding), no extra holes, no cut stock.

I forgot that ths has been nicely glass bedded at the tang and recoil lug.

$1400 to your FFL or C&R.

Gents, I completely forgot that this is glass bedded! It's not noticeable, but it is there. So it's not as original as I made it sound. PM to Cerifiable.

bufaf, how are you doing today? This sure is a beautiful rifle. But an example of why sometimes guys need to consult with the Winchester collectors forum here before listing a rifle like this. While it is a beauty, it is not "completely original", as the OP states. I'm not talking about just the glass bedding either. The rear sight is not original. The original would be the 22G/3C and those are not cheap. The flip up that is on it is about a $25 sight while the 22G/3C demands a minimum of about $120.00 in most cases. I know a lot of us have changed those rear sights out so we can use a scope, but the one shown on the rifle is not "original". Hopefully you have the original sight that goes with the rifle? Also, I'd want to see pics of the bedding job. If I were the buyer, I'd politely ask for a reduction in price and hope you were willing to bend a little. It's not my deal, but something I'd be thinking about, since it is not as described.

You just can’t help being a douche can you?

You’re right, it’s not your deal, so STFU.

You are correct. It is not the correct rear sight. I was not aware of that at the time, but I am now. The buyer and I have come to a resolution. And you are also correct, it's not your deal.

I love model 70's and I click on everything model 70! But I hesitate to do just that somedays as I hate bsa's comments. We've all read his comments so much at times I look at a rifle and know what he's going to say! It's to bad as he has a lot of knowledge that is helpful to some folks just has no idea when to not say anything.
