I just measured 5 Jewells...they ran from .308 to .310. Two Shilens are right at .310 and 4 standard Rem triggers are from .306 to .308. The narrowest is a Timney at .303 and it's a loose fit in a 700 receiver.
I checked 3 receivers and they are from .308 to .310.
I've seen the receiver trigger notch narrowed up and out of shape from previous trigger changes where the correct fitting punch wasn't used and/or the beveled side of the pins didn't go in first. I used a small flat diamond file and a bit of 320 around a piece of flat stock and squared up the notch. Use the trigger fit as your guide rather than trying to measure.
Hope this helps. -Al
