WTB Savage 99EG, style 5, .308, (900,000-969,602), 1955-1959. No tang or forearm cracks. Good to very good condition. Very good bore.

Style 5 is a savage 99HG with a checkered stock, schnable tip forearm, factory drilled for scope with the Savage Model 99 stamped to the side of the receiver ring rather than the top, most have jeweled bolts, internals have been modified to handle the longer 243/308/358 class of cartridges. Style 5 Serial numbers: 900,000-969,602) (1955-1959). 24” barrel. Hope this helps you. A good book to read on these rifles is The Savage 99 Pocket Reference by Rory Reynoldson.

Bounty Hunter, sorry for my first reply to your 99c. I misread it to say 99EG. Right now I’m looking at. 99EG, Style 5 because it was factory drilled for a scope. My old eyes need a scope for hunting. I apologize for my first replay because it would have seemed rude. I guess I need a scope for reading also.
